The Spanish royal family attended National Day celebrations today. The patriotic commemoration marks the anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival into the Americas on 12th October 1492, also known as Columbus Day in the United States. King Felipe and Queen Letizia were accompanied by their daughters to preside over the traditional military parade in Madrid.
Queen Letizia looked elegant in a royal blue dress and jacket combination from her designer of choice, Felipe Varela. The A-line dress is made from double crepe wool and features midnight blue velvet ribbon trim and a matching cropped jacket in the same tone.
Queen Letizia opted for tonal blue accessories. She wore midnight blue patent pumps from Magrit, carried her Felipe Varela ocean blue leather clutch with Swarovski crystals, and completed the outfit with her Bvlgari aquamarine teardrop earrings.
Following the parade, the royal couple hosted a reception at the Royal Palace where they had invited diplomats and Spanish dignitaries.
We will next see Her Majesty tomorrow when she opens the 10th edition of the International Seminar on Language and Journalism in San Millan.
