This is a great skirt and I am pleased to see it repeated. I don't think it has ever reached it's full potential. I haven't liked the styling of the past two looks and I have a few quibbles today. I dislike the shoes, there is no belt and while the delicate blouse coordinates with the soft pink within the print, I'm not sure it's the best match. If I were wish-listing I would pair this piece with a Carolina Herrera, white, tailored, three quarter length sleeve shirt which is synonymous with the designer. Carolina Herrera often combines a classic white shirt with a statement skirt and beautiful earrings which looks incredibly elegant. I would have tried to find a leather waist belt in stone to match the base colour of the print, so it was a subtle detail but provided extra polish. I would also have removed an inch or two from the length. Accessories, the sophisticated grey Magrit pumps and white clutch worn previously on 3/07/18 were perfect. For jewellery I may have chosen the mother of pearl Coolook Kraz earrings with a new Kraz pendent in mother of pearl, amethyst, pink quartz or citrine (whichever is most versatile for her wardrobe - all of the colours would compliment the print). Regardless of my changes the Queen looks very summery and appropriate, I will miss appearances while they take a well deserved vacation.

They often appear in Mallorca for some photos every year..., so you will see them all..

Hi Wendy, of course, looking back through 2018 they are very generous with appearances over their vacation period. Fashion wise, every year I look forward to Balearic Society Reception.

Oh dear, I think I'd find white too washed-out against the pale backgkround of the skirt print. I was rather wishing Letizia might try matching up the purple or that vivid turquoise! It is a problem with these beautiful skirt prints Letizia has, trying to find a top that clicks. I've always favoured prints like these precisely because it's possible to ring the changes with different colour tops but I have found now and again that I get one which I never quite feel happy with no matter what I try. Interesting to see I'm not alone in my struggle!!

Hi Bertie, I agree that this is a difficult skirt to style, it should be so easy with all the colours on offer. Annoyingly, the the blue knitted tee and belt first worn with the skirt didn't work for me, I found it too intense against the print. The white silk tee later worn with the skirt I found too shapeless and not white enough, where the fabric was so fine. I think that the skirt could be more vibrant in person (looking at the shoes and handbag photos) and hold well against a structured bright white shirt. Hopefully we will see it repeated a few more times with all of our suggestions :o)

Hi Bertie & Jennifer,
I understand what you ladies are saying about finding a match for printed skirts. But, I find it hard to believe that Letizia and her staff with all their vast resources are having difficulty. I'm sure with a little work they could find a top in one of the dominant colours found in the skirt.

Sandy, I think we're seeing a skirt that is simply a tough one to accessorize even if you have back- up!

Jennifer, I want you to come over and be my stylist :-) I like your suggestions!

While there is nothing offensive about this outfit, it doesn't work. There may be some blush in the skirt but the blouse and shoes in that hue don't work with the pattern. If there were my skirt I would wear it with a crisp white blouse and either grey accessories or if I found an exact match one of the deeper colours in the skirt. I also dislike the shoes and think something is wrong with the proportions of the skirt. Maybe a top that sits over the waist at the hip or as Jennifer suggested, a shorter length.

Thanks to this wonderful website, I bought these shoes several months ago and they are so flattering to my legs. They are absolutely beautiful, comfortable and very affordable. I love it that Queen Letizia doesn't always wear designer clothing. It's so much fun for us mere mortals to copy her exact style!😉

This could be a pretty, summer outfit, but it misses the mark in a few places. The blouse is such a light pink it really does nothing for the skirt. A slightly deeper pink, or one of the many colours in the skirt, would have made the blouse compliment the skirt better. Many of us seem to dislike the clear plastic on the shoes. It makes them look cheap and I know they aren't. I like the earrings. Overall this is not one of Letizia's best outfits.

I like the pretty summery skirt. However, I'm not sure why they paired it with the light pink top and accessories. I may be wrong but I don't see any pink in the skirt. I remember she first wore the skirt with a short sleeve blue top that really highlighted the blue in the floral print and was a much better match. I really hate the plastic flap on those shoes.

Sandy, there is most definitely pink in the skirt, which is why I suggested a deeper pink blouse to match the one in the skirt. Look at the photo of the handbag. Bottom right hand corner of bag, colour beneath it is yellow, Keep going down, next colour is pink. This pink is repeated elsewhere in the skirt.

I think you are right, Laura. It's sometimes hard to see some details in photographs.

This is such a pretty skirt but it takes me back to the Hugo Boss Viplisa floral skirt of Letizia's where repeated outings were made with different coloured tops which didn't quite manage to partner a vibrant print. The problem comes again here where picking out a print colour in the top isn't quite strong enough, although the outfit as a whole is elegance personified.

I'm interested to see the studio shot shows a match with a bold stripe top which I think the delicate print needs to give it emphasis. It's interesting that Letizia wore a navy top with the skirt on its first outing which was much better. It also really needs the dark belt. But this is a recycle and a change of top is for an upswitch which I completely understand. The new Hugo Boss top is very pretty and the slight cutaway sleeve adds an edge which helps against the delicate floral skirt . Love those shoes, and like the accessories mis-match, it works against these muted colours. Earrings are divine.

This is a beautiful skirt. It would have been lovely with a belt. The blouse is nice but sleeves and collar would have looked great, personal preference only. Loved the earrings.

I totally agree with you Jennifer, in every detail. I also think it is a good look but it could be better with some changes, especially with white classic shirt (great idea) and shorter dress.

Both pieces are very nice but I don't think they match together. The skirt seems to be cool-toned while the blush top is warm. Looking forward to see them styled separately in the future!

She has worn this skirt three times so I do not think that she wears it again. She must be in "vacations mode" (it was 31st August already) and this year it is a bit odd because the govermment is not set up , it is an acting govermment and the Head of State must be on duty, so their vacations will be weird. I think that fashion is the last for then both.

Though the blouse, skirt, shoes, purse all summery colours. The shape is right but the subtle difference in hues is a miss. The blush of the blouse vs the off white background of the skirt vs beige pumps vs white purse....too many hues competing in such conflict. Too bad. Not an easy outfit to coordinate.

The lady in the blue dress is Ana Santos Aramburo, the Director of Biblioteca Nacional. The lady with the cane is the writer Soledad Puértolas Villanueva, member of the Royal Academy of Spanish Language and President of the Biblioteca Nacional Board of Trustees. As a Spaniard, I'm proud that two very accomplished ladies are in charge of one of Spain's most important cultural institutions.
