Tonally this outfit really works and the proportions are perfect. The pink doesn't veer into sugary territory with the textured waistcoat and the crisp wide leg trousers. Sadly, I don't like any of the pieces individually, particularly the shoes (I'm super fussy with plastic on shoes) but I appreciate that everything works harmoniously and was reasonably priced. Despite my criticism of the Steve Madden's, the design cleverly elongates the leg and helps to balance the outfit, along with the fitted waistcoat which nips in at the waist creating an elegant silhouette. It's great to see the Tous moonstone earrings, they haven't been worn publicly in a while, the rubies echo the flicks of colour in the waistcoat. This ensemble is much stronger than last years look which I thought was poorly executed with the un-tucked knit, which covered the striped waistband of the Hugo Boss viplisa skirt.

Just like Jennifer I am really not a fan of plastic when it comes to shoes, but I really like this combo. It is very stylish and very cool at the same time.

This outfit seem "off" in some ways. The waistcoat looks matronly. And although it is sleeveless suggesting warmer weather, the heavy tweed fabric suggests colder weather. I think the designer missed on this item. Unless it is supposed to be worn with a long sleeved top inside. Pairing it with the wide leg cropped pants just doesn't work in my opinion. It might have looked better with skinny pants or a pencil skirt. The pants and accessories have a pink hue but I don't see any pink in the waistcoat. It's a dull, boring outfit.

I was assuming the waistcoat would be a lighter synthetic mix, real tweed would definitely be heavy going for the wearer. I see the Zara site shows it being worn with a midi skirt, albeit in a darker pink and I thought the crops have that effect. I can see where you're coming from on clumsy proportions though when I saw more photos of the outfit I thought it looked better. I know how a whole outfit can look off of course, and always find it hard to reverse a first impression myself 😄

Bertie, it could be a lighter fabric but it just gives the impression of being warm. I must check the Zara site to see an alternate presentation. Thanks!

I agree it's odd to see tweed out of context in a summer outfit, but then that's fashion for you of course!😄

I stand corrected after checking the Zara website. The waistcoat definitely has pink in it!

I love this outfit and especially the panache Letizia shows in pairing High Street items with such elegant effect. The pink-toned tweed-effect waistcoat is a terrific match with the wide crops and balances the monochrome pink beautifully. Even her shoes are far from expensive but still pack a style punch well above their price tag with the on-trend plastic strap. The colours in the earrings are an inspired match which finishes the outfit wonderfully, the plain clutch is unfussy and perfect too.

Pants need to be longer then this outfit would work. Nice earrings.

In this country those pants are called "falda-pantalón" (skirt-trousers), used to go to the office because they are fresh and comfy.
