On Sunday, the Spanish King and Queen traveled to New York for a three day visit, which is their first to the USA as reining monarchs. The primary reason for their trip is to attend the Climate Summit and the opening of the 69th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations. However, today they took the opportunity to show their ongoing commitment to education. King Felipe visited the Institute of International Education and meet with Fulbright Fellows, while Queen Letizia visited the Dos Puentes Elementary School in Harlem.
The Dos Puentes School has a large Hispanic student population and Queen Letizia visited the premises to observe acceptance of four New York schools into the network of International Spanish Academies.
The Queen sat in on a classroom during her visit.
Queen Letizia an aubergine Hugo Boss skirt suit. The separates consist of the Hugo Boss 'Jamayla' blazer and matching 'Valessima' skirt.
Letizia first wore the single-breasted blazer separately in January 2014 for an audience with the Spanish Federation of Blood Donors. She teamed it with a pair of grey trousers. She repeated the look a couple weeks later when she visited the La Salle-college of Virgen del Mar in Almeria.
Following their solo engagements, the royal couple convened for lunch with representatives from the Spanish academic community in New York.
Today, Letizia wore ruby drop earrings, her nude envelope clutch and Magrit 'Leonor' pumps, a style she owns in several colours.
