Queen Letizia wears monochrome for visit to Aragon

The King and Queen of Spain continued their tour to all of the Autonomous Communities with a day trip to Aragon. The objective is to support the recovery of social, economic and citizen activity following the COVID-19 lockdown.

Their Majesties day began in the heart of the Aragonese Pyrenees with a visit to the Monasterio Viejo de San Juan de la Peña (Old Monastery of San Juan de la Peña). It was one of the most prominent monasteries in Aragon in the Middle Ages. Its two-level church is partially carved in the stone of the great cliff that overhangs the foundation. San Juan de la Peña means 'Saint John of the Cliff'.
Later King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia moved to Jaca, the capital of the Aragonese Pyrenees. They toured its streets and most emblematic areas of the city. The director of the Museo Diocesano explained to Their Majesties the tradition of placing a white flag on the highest point of the Cathedral, a symbol that indicates that the city is free of an epidemic which gave free passage to the pilgrims who had to follow the Camino de Santiago.
To conclude their day the Royal Couple moved to the Pabellón de Hielo (Ice Pavilion), where they held a working meeting with representatives of the Aragón tourism sector. They discussed the Aragón Tourism Sector Shock Plan to combat the crisis generated by COVID-19.

This is an unusual outfit but I really like it. Each piece is interesting.
I like the puffy sleeves on the top, the sleek, cropped pants and the black espadrilles with the strap around the ankle. The shorter length of the pants showcases the style of the shoe And the fitted pants goes well with the fuller top. It all comes together to create an unique look.

Letizia has clearly nailed archeology chic for her visit to the beautiful monastery. She looks quite the erudite in the neutral Massimo Dutti top with its pretty puff shoulders plus black pants.

The wide Armani crops continue to be perfectly tailored to look chic without swamping her trim figure and for once in my life I actually approve of a pair of espadrilles. This all-black Castaner pair really balance the weight of the crops while having a nice low cut at the toes and a welcome light touch from the cut-out on the heel.

Agree on the espadrilles. This is one pair that I like and would wear myself. The others I have seen are just too chunky and busy,

This ensemble works well for the day's itinerary, it's practical and the monochrome is smart. However, I find the sleeves of the knit fussy. I prefer other tops/knits on the Massimo Dutti website but this is a personal preference. The trousers are a little too big at the waist, the belt sits awkwardly high on the waistband causing the fabric to gather (you can see this in the close-up photograph of the belt and other full-length shots). Queen Letizia has many black trousers, another pair may have presented better. These are my favourite of the four new alparagatas. Like Macarena,Castañer makes some equally heavy styles. The 'Carina 80' is more streamlined compared to others we have seen and the all-black helps lengthen the look.

I don't care for this outfit, with the exception of the earrings and the belt. The design feature of the bulky pleats around the shoulder/sleeve of the top strikes me as very odd. I also don't care for these cropped pants that look wide at the bottom. Then there is the shoe that once again looks clunky and makes Letizia's feet look big. A black sandal or ballet flat would have been nicer.

Hi Wendy, yes, unfortunately Melbourne is back in lockdown :( Our COVID numbers are on the rise and our government doesn't want to take any chances so we have no choice but to self isolate. I'm lucky that I can work from home. Our numbers are still relatively low compared to other places around the world, but as you know it's an uneasy feeling when you see the COVID cases increasing. Thank you for you well wishes xo

Patience, resignation, a lot of series to watch, some good wine to drink, something to cook, a stationary bicycle......I do not know if you live alone....

I really know it....unfortunately...
Good luck!!

I must say Australia has done very well with this pandemic so far. There have been very few cases and deaths. You along with New Zealand have been a model for the rest of the world. Congratulations to the political leaders and health care workers for doing an outstanding job. Keep up the good work!

Wendy, I'm keeping myself busy with some minor home renovations. We just got new new carpets installed, and I've ordered some new furniture and shelving so I'm having fun with decorating :) We are also updating our backyard in the coming weeks, and our hallway needs a fresh coat of paint. I'll have plenty to keep me busy over the 6 week lockdown :)

Sandy, I didn't even realize the world noticed us Down Under! I hope we can continue to keep the COVID cases under control and remain a model for COVID management x

Elizabeth, I consider Canada and Australia as 'cousins'. We have a lot in common- English speaking, commonwealth countries, similar culture, values etc. During times of crisis you are in our thoughts for sure.

Sandy, the feeling is mutual! Canada has always been on my wanderlist, and I hope I'll have a chance to visit your beautiful county once we get through this pandemic!

This combination of MD cream puff top and cropped trousers works well. The pair of black espadrilles I like and looks great with the style of trousers. The cream puff sleeve sweater is very attractive, the sleeves adding interest, combining cream and black I always love.

I really like this outfit Letizia is so current with her interpretation of style and so practical about specific choices for events.i choose to view her
fashion choices as almost perfectly spot on and appropriate. She is so
Willing to express her personal style, which is what makes her a true icon of style

This look is a miss for me. There's not much to like, apart from Letizia's jewelry, but she does look comfortable and I appreciate must be so difficult to pick an outfit for these day trips, because they do so much and visit numerous places in such a short time.
