The King and Queen of Spain attended an official dinner in Seoul this evening hosted by President Moon Jae-in and First Lady Kim Jung-sook.
They dined at the Blue House, the executive office and official residence of the President of South Korea.
Queen Letizia surprised us in a new dress by Temperley London. This is the first time she has stepped out in a piece by the English fashion house, known for its modern bohemianism with a confident, feminine and effortless attitude while staying true to its British Heritage. Temperley London is prominent in the closet of the Duchess of Cambridge.
Letizia wore the designer's 'Finale' midi dress (RRP: £1,495 - Now £750). Crafted in a sheer crepe fabric, this graphic yet delicate embroidered dress combines geometric elements in a hexagonal artwork which radiates out into flowers and a nod to the collection's vintage motorsports inspiration.
She teamed the floaty feminine dress with her black Magrit 'Mary' satin clutch and Manolo Blahnik 'Gotrianc' Slingbacks 105.
Letizia topped off the look with Queen Sofia's ruby and diamond dove 'Saudi' earrings, and a diamond and ruby bracelet.

My goodness that was a lot of hand shaking in the video. I'm trying to like this dress, but I don't. While the embroidery is beautifully done, the overall look is very fussy. The tiers in the skirt don't help and the length is dowdy. Have certainly enjoyed all the gems on this tour.

Hmm, Letizia looks lovely but I feel this dress is too youthful and playful for her age

Too youthful for her age? My God, she's only 47! I don't think she has to dress dowdy suits from now on.

I wasn't implying the Letizia was old and should dress dowdy, she's only 2 years older than me! But I find this style better suits somebody on the younger side of 40.

I would wear this but she is so elegant and I don't think it suits her very well.

The flower on the skirt is typical and National flower of South Korea, I think that Eva Fernández found it and thought it was perferct for the country......honoring the Country.

The Queen looks lovely, the embroidery is so intricate and gloriously crafted, but this is a little too busy for me liking. Loved her accessories. Her jewellery pieces, earrings very unusual, but ruby and diamonds, you cannot go wrong, the bracelet is beautiful.

I like it, very interesting dress. And the addition of bracelet and earrings is beautiful. I don't like the lenght of the dress, I like knee lenght or long dress.

I like this dress because it is so unusual and artistic. I appreciate that all the embroidery is small scale and that suits Letizia better than some of the big, wild flowered outfits she has worn lately. The dress really has a Korean/oriental look and feel to it so it honoured her hosts. The tiered skirt gives the dress a kind of boho or bohemian look that is different and that's why it had to be a bit longer in length. The pale pink colour is light and subtle so it's not overpowering.

I am not a fan of Temperley London. It's far too fussy for my taste, I would walk straight past this dress, but it is gorgeous on the Queen! she looked very beautiful at this event with her hair swept back elegantly. What is so charming about this piece is the fit and proportions. The bodice lines the bust and waist at exactly the right points, the length is perfect and the tiered levels are subtle, overall the look is of delicacy and lightness. The deep sheer yoke and nude cutout section in the centre of the top breaks the concentrated design, the bracelet sleeves allow the ruby and diamond jewels to shine, echoing the outline of the pink florals in the embroidery. But what really sells this ensemble are the Manolo Blahnik slingbacks, the cut outs work stunningly well against the black geometric pattern. These shoes were such a good buy and have enhanced every outfit that they have been worn with, I would love to see Letizia invest in another pair of MB evening shoes, top of my list would be a pair of iconic 'Hangisi' pumps.

The Korean first lady donned a Hanbok - the traditional Korean national costume.

This reminds me of the blush pink Felipe Varela from a few days ago. This frilly pink princess thing... For me, the problem with all these flounced, midi dresses is proportion. The sleeve ends in a weird place on the arm and the length is not flattering. The embroidery is beautiful though and it is nice to know that QL was honoring the national flower.

Ah, thanks for bringing up the comparison to her pink FV. That's what it reminds me of. Yes, agree with with your post.

It's no good, I just don't like Temperley in these fussy designs with the black contrasts. I seem to have seen Duchess Kate wear any number of them and at least one became the worst thing I'd seen her in for a while. Temperley can of course pull off the odd outfit with much less going on and even in neutral shades, totally different in temperament from this. But I find these styles look better on paper or in studio shots than in real life, it's as if as soon as the wearer moves the design concept is lost.

Enough for an event where the host wear the traditional costume. Imagine Letizia in the Asturian traditional outfit.....😶

Love the dress. I don't think it's too young for her. We need to stop thinking that way and putting limitations on women's style, based on old provincial beliefs. It's beautiful and appropriate.
