On Thursday evening, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia presided over the closing concert of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union at the National Music Auditorium in Madrid.

A totally elegant and stylish look. Velvet trimmed with satin is as rich as it gets. Happy to see Letizia's continued use of lower healed shoes.

This suit is beautiful and perfect for an evening event. It has great design and construction almost like a tuxedo with the satin details. The buttons are gorgeous and add glamour. I just wish Letizia had chosen a white or silver insert or camisole. There is no contrast because everything is black.

Oh wow! I do love this black velvet pantsuit. Excellent fit. The pants are a very good fit, love the length of the jacket. The Queen looks so chic and stylish.
Her hair up looks lovely, and makeup on point.
The diamond earrings are a favourite of mine, beautiful.

The fabulous Paco Rabanne pant suit has to be the most chic farewell to the Spanish EU presidency imaginable. Letiza looks quite incredible in this divine tailoring with its elegant touches of satin and crystal. The single decorative jacket button is a brilliant centre point for the ensemble, and the lower invert jacket pockets so suave.

I'm always grateful for the restraint of slim-leg pants over wide and floppy, and these have more delicious satin touches at the back pocket edges. Black accessories with this were a no-brainer and I like the unfussy, plain Magrit clutch, and the low-heel Nina Ricci pumps which deliver elegance without discomfort.

The Queen's updo looks terrific for evening and helps those gorgeous Joyas de pasar diamond chanton earrings to shine out in their full glory.
