Queen Letizia debuts green Zara floral printed midi dress

So nice, she bought it twice!

The Queen of Spain welcomed audiences at the Palace of Zarzuela today.

Letizia deviated from her typical tailored style and instead debuted a pretty green Zara floral printed midi dress (US$89.90). The breezy chiffon dress features a gathered round neckline, and smock detailing at the waist and cuffs.

The dress is a Autumnal update of the pink Zara printed dress she premiered in July last year. The silhouette and detailing of the two dresses are identical but the new print has been subdued for Fall.

Letizia complemented the rich red accents of the dress with her burgundy Uterque curved heel suede pumps.

She finished the ensemble her Coolook 'Sarin' earrings.

Normally Letizia is the most elegant royal, but this dress is a rare misstep, IMO. It's frumpy. From the upholstery print to the mumsy style... The color is not flattering to her, either. I doubt she will wear it again. Nevertheless, she looks beautiful.

I've been away from here for too long and hoping to catch up a bit on outfits I noticed at the time but was unable to stop and comment.

I was most surprised to see Letizia in something quite so unstructured and didn't take to it well, especially in the darker print. I don't think the elasticated waist does anything for her and it's the nearest I've ever seen her come to looking frumpy.

The shirring on the cuffs works well but overall I'd have said this dress risks looking in keeping with its high street price and a sharp contrast to Letizia's usually highly tailored look.
