The Spanish royal family chose the Son Marroig estate in Deia for the backdrop of their second photo opportunity while on vacation on the island of Mallorca. On Sunday they posed for the media outside Marivent Palace, their summer residence in Palma.

The estate is dedicated to the Archduke Ludwig Salvador who bought up properties along the coast in an effort to save them from development, and devoted himself to studying and recording Mallorcan wildlife and traditions.

How beautifully coordinated they all look, in their blue and white ensembles, that match the sea. Letizia seems relaxed and happy. Her dress is simple vacation wear with a touch of elegance. The tote bag is different for the Queen but it carries well the colour theme.

The tote bag the one you can buy at the markets in Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands all is blue and white and all is a bit "hippy chick" The Mediterranean sea is gorgeous

I was so excited to see this dress, I saw it on the Uterque website while browsing and thought that it would be perfect for the Queen's holiday suitcase. It's effortlessly chic, I love the crisp neckline and the stiffer fabric holds the clean cut well. I understand that Letizia wears espadrilles for cultural reasons and I commend her for listening to the people of Spain. This particular pair are a tasteful nude tone and less fussy than other designs, I just don't like the jelly shoe form. This is a versatile dress which can be worn for more formal occasions too. If we see it repeated it may look nice with woven leather pumps/slingbacks, the organic style would work beautifully with the oatmeal colour and texture of the cotton and linen mix. The Helena Nicolau prawn earring are ideal for summer vacation dressing. They are substantial enough to stand out, the circular shape echos the swirl buttons and gold ring on the nautical style rope belt. As Laura mentioned their ensembles blend perfectly against the stunning backdrop.

Actually, I don't think these shoes are espadrilles because they don't wraparound the ankle. I think they are just plain wedges.

Hi Sandy, of course! Thank you for pointing that out, I should have realised where they are leather. So pleased you also liked the dress!

In fact there are lots of types of "alpargatas" not all of them are wraparound the ankle, and most of them are flat.
The point is the material, esparto.
There you go:

It is actually a bag. A cloth bag that carries the traditional Mallorcan print that the natives know as robes de llengües (tongue fabrics) in blue and white. But the history of this bag goes further. They are called CF Bags, that is, solidarity bags whose benefits are fully allocated to the Catalan Assiciation of Cystic Fibrosis

Just wanted to mention that you can buy Letizia’s bolsa on Etsy at MarblauDesigns. They are $38/each. They have it in blue, red, yellow and green. Just bought the red and blue myself!

It seems we are seeing more of Letizia while she is on holiday than when she is working. I didn't expect they would have so many public outings while in Mallorca. While I am thrilled to see the family, I feel sorry for them always being on display while on private vacation time. Meanwhile, I love the Queen's white dress with the cool neckline and miniature buttons down the middle. It's unique, simple and elegant. Like Jennifer said, I would like to see it re-styled with some more dressy shoes even though the wedges are perfect for a casual look.

A very well-coordinated family even to the point of matching the surroundings. Letizia's Uterque dress is lovely and classic, and a bargain at that price. I like the deep neck opening and the gold buttons for added interest plus the neat slim belt. I'm glad to see espadrilles minus ties although being a cheaper shoe they strike me as a bit clunky, and I assume the pretty bag has been added for colour to break up the monochrome dress. Clearly a family mum holiday outfit, and both girls look so pretty as well.

In South America alpargatas are typical also, all in my mobile appear in Portuguese and Brasilian reales (currency)...lol..

I love this dress. Its cool, clear, classic lines. The neckline I like it is a little different, especially with the tiny buttons. She looks very elegant. In this instance I like the wedges. The girls looked very pretty in their dresses.
