The King and Queen of Spain attended the memorial service for Infanta Alicia of Spain this evening. The service was held at the Royal Chapel within the Royal Palace of Madrid.
She passed away on March 28, 2017 at age 99 and was the aunt of King Felipe's father, King Juan Carlos who was also in attendance alongside Queen Sofia.
Queen Letizia was in a sombre set and wore a new black dress by Carolina Herrera New York. The black sheath dress with bow sleeves is from the designer's Spring 2017 collection and retails for US$2,390. It is currently only available at flagship stores.
She completed the outfit with her Carolina Herrera 'Astrud' clutch bag and Prada Saffiano patent leather pointy toe pumps.

Just perfect. Like Theodore Roosevelt said: "Politeness is a sign of dignity, not subservience". Always amazing and delicate.

That's a very elegant outfit. Do you know why Spanish ladies don't wear hats in church?

Hats are not a Spanish custom, back in the day, "mantillas" and "peinetas" were worn.

Thank you. I'm used to seeing hats in church, but that explains it. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
