Spanish Royals pose for summer photocall

The Spanish royal family invited the media to Almudaina Palace on Sunday for a traditional photo session at the commencement of their summer holidays on the island of Mallorca.

The family of four looked relaxed and casual as they posed for the cameras.

The annual summer portrait sitting was started by King Juan Carlos. Felipe has continued his father's tradition since his enthronement. Here's a look back at the photos from the past years since King Felipe's VI reign.

I love this look. Very fresh and summery. The whole family look well, happy and relaxed. I like the way that the girls are dressed, not too old for their age.

This white dress is such a pretty summer look. In viewing the photos of past summer family groups, I am impressed with two things. First, the two, young princesses look so poised and they are dressed very appropriately for their ages. Second, in these pictures Letizia is wearing more casual shoes that not only look good, but also are much better for her back, legs and feet. So often her stilettos look painful. We have all heard how such high shoes can play havoc with our bodies. Yet they seem to be worn by so many royals in different countries. Kate and Meghan in Great Britain, seldom wear any other kind of shoe. All of them need to pay attention and realize that lower heeled shoes can also look stylish and dressy.

The shoes (alpargatas) she is wearing are typical from the Balearic Islands, it is a homenage for the locals, as the ones Leonor and Sofía wore, called "mallorquinas" as Mallorca, the Island...
Moreover all the country wears them, even men.

A truly delightful summer dress from Letizia, broderie anglaise isn't always the easiest fabric to make a good-looking dress in but the Hugo Boss avoids the kind of bulky gathering that can make it look so juvenile. The dropped waist must help by lowering the fuller skirt fabric. Sofia is just the right age to wear such a style but it would look a little strange on her mother. Leonora's shift on the other hand looks positively funky, a clever pick!

Love Letizia's new summer clutch, a nice contrast of a woven look with the smart leather contrast bands. Espadrilles are just right with this though I'm no fan of all the criss-crossing straps myself. They can too soon look tacky. The Chanel earrings are simply sweet.

The photo shoot was at the Almudaina Palace, first time they do this even though they stay at Marivent.
