The King and Queen of Spain depart to Denmark for State Visit

On Monday, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain received a farewell with honors at Madrid-Barajas Airport as they departed for a three-day State Visit to the Kingdom of Denmark.

The State Visit to Denmark is a response to a gracious invitation from Her Majesty Queen Margaret, which has been pending since the coronation of King Felipe VI in 2014. The last State Visit to Denmark by a Spanish monarch was in 1980 during the reign of King Juan Carlos. This trip aims to underscore and reinforce the bilateral ties and relations between the two countries.

I wish we could get a better look at this vibrant HB blazer. I love the yellow shade and the design is so different with the placement of the buttons in a 'V" formation and the diagonal shape of the lapels below the collar. It looks very striking against the black pants and coat.

I am trying to figure out why Letizia would wear such an oversized, black coat. The sleeves almost cover her hands and it looks like she borrowed it from her husband's closet. The lime green blazer underneath is unique in its button closure, however, in the little that we can see, it also looks too large. The boots are fine, although for comfort on a flight, I'd opt for an ankle boot that would give the same look. Letizia's hair is very severe. Perhaps she will change on the plane before the arrival in Denmark, as she doesn't look her best to start a state visit.

LOL! I took another look at the first picture and have to agree the coat looks like it once belonged to Felipe.

I love the acid yellow of this Hugo Boss Jestena Blazer against the black mango Batin coat and admire Letizia for having the courage and elan to pull off the combination. Slim leg pants are perfect with this and the Unisa wide heel boots look comfortable and equally stylish.

The triple hoop Gold and Roses earrings remain a treasure and add great finish. Interesting Letizia should wear her hair up with a relatively relaxed outfit, but it all looks great.

The yellow blazer is a delight! love it. The slimline pants work in well with the jacket.
The long black coat is too baggy for my liking.
