Today, the King and Queen of Spain continued their busy schedule in New York. The day began with a presentation by King Felipe VI to the United Nations Climate Summit. This was his first speech abroad as Head of State. During his speech, Don Felipe spoke about the need to tackle climate change and Spain’s efforts at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Queen Letizia was also in attendance at the summit. Following King Felipe's presentation, their Majesties carried out separate agendas. Queen Letizia meet with the directors of FAO and UNICEF. This was followed by a meeting with WHO Director-General Margaret Chan. Meanwhile, King Felipe headed to the Waldorf Astoria hotel to meet with President Barack Obama. For today's important meetings, Queen Letizia wore a tailored jacket and dress combination by her favorite Spanish designer, Felipe Varela. The outfit is bespoke but shares elements with a jacket from Varela's pre-fall 2014 collection. Letizia's modified jacket has a straight silhouette with pewter grosgrain panels that extend all the way to the hem. This photo shows that the back also has a grosgrain panel which is also a feature of the ready-to-wear piece. She wore a matching sheath dress rendered in the same double wool crepe fabric as the jacket and accessorized with pewter pointed toe pumps and clutch bag also from the current Felipe Varela collection. The bag is modeled on the 'Sobre-Trapecio' style. Here we show it in snakeskin leather which is currently available for €775. SHOP QUEEN LETIZIA'S STYLE FOR LESS ...
