The Liturgical procession was led by the Archbishop of Madrid, Monsignor Carlos Osoro. The Eucharist began with a few words from the President of the Spanish Episcopal Conference and requests were made by people affected by the pandemic.

The liturgy concluded with a blessing by the Archbishop of Madrid. After the Eucharist, the Bishop of Ávila and former Secretary-General of the Spanish Episcopal Conference read Pope Francis' prayer on the Pandemic.

Over 500,000 people have lost their lives to this dreadful disease worldwide so far. I hope they find a treatment soon.

Good to see the royal family honouring those who have lost their lives at this tragic time. I'm impressed how grown-up the young princesses are becoming, wearing black has given them added gravitas. Also glad to see they are wearing different styles of dress. Interesting they are in flats since otherwise I think only her heels help their mother look taller for the photos. Sofia looks to have a particularly smart pair of slingback flats for the occasion.

The entire family is very appropriately dressed for this solemn occasion. The two princesses are lovely and seem to totally understand their role. Condolences to the people of Spain on the loss of so many of their citizens.

Leonor is wearing a dress by Poète, do you remember that one Letizia worn? ...in fact I think that brand is for young little women..Sofia is wearing Hugo Boss.

This would have been a very moving, sombre service. It is good to see the Royal family attending. My sympathies to the people of Spain for the terrible loss of life.
