It was a busy morning for the King and Queen of Spain on their last day in the city of New Orleans before moving on to San Antonio, Texas for the second leg of their 6-day USA visit.
King Felipe's day began by receiving in audience North American historians and presidents of the main universities of New Orleans. He was later joined by Queen Letizia at the New Orleans Museum of Art where they were treated to three performances related to the roots and cultural mergers of the city.
For their final engagement in the cuty of New Orleans, Felipe and Letizia held a reception with a representation of the society of New Orleans with the presence of the Spanish community living in the city and a group of descendants of the first settlers of the Canary Islands.
At noon, Their Majesties departed from New Orleans and arrived in San Antonio, Texas where they were greeted by the Mayor at San Antonio International Airport.
WHAT LETIZIA WORE
HANDBAG: CH Carolina Herrera 'Astrud' black clutch bag with metal bar flap. Debuted July 2016.
SHOES: NEW! Black pointed toe slides with vinyl strap (unidentified)
They could be the Gianvito Rossi 'Virtua' 100 leather and PVC mules, however Letizia's shoes appear to have a suede upper. Another possibility is the Steve Madden 'Plaza' mules. Both are brands that Letizia has not worn before so I'll hold off on making a definitive ID until we get better images of the shoes.
ID UPDATE (27 Jun 2018): We got a better look at the shoes when Letizia wore them again for an event in Benidorm! They are indeed the Steve Madden 'Plaza' mules. The US website shows them with a natural sole, but Letizia's mules have a black sole which can be found on the brand's European line available at YOOX. The mules are also available in Australia from David Jones.
EARRINGS: White gold bezel set diamonds and Australian pearl earrings.
