The King and Queen of Spain attended the memorial service for Infanta Alicia of Spain this evening. The service was held at the Royal Chapel within the Royal Palace of Madrid.
She passed away on March 28, 2017 at age 99 and was the aunt of King Felipe's father, King Juan Carlos who was also in attendance alongside Queen Sofia.
Queen Letizia was in a sombre set and wore a new black dress by Carolina Herrera New York. The black sheath dress with bow sleeves is from the designer's Spring 2017 collection and retails for US$2,390. It is currently only available at flagship stores.
She completed the outfit with her Carolina Herrera 'Astrud' clutch bag and Prada Saffiano patent leather pointy toe pumps.

The Queen of Spain was in Seville today for the Red Cross & Red Crescent World Day ceremony.
Each year, on 8th May, 189 countries mark the anniversary of the birth of Henry Dunant, founder of the humanitarian organization.
In her speech, Queen Letizia highlighted the importance of the staff and volunteers of these two organizations, which save lives and assist vulnerable communities worldwide. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent is the largest humanitarian network in the world.
For the occasion, Queen Letizia repeated a look she debuted at the International Congress on Women and Disability in March as shown below.
It consists of the Carolina Herrera Prince Of Wales Floral Cutout Dress and the LODI 'Saray' nude patent leather pumps.
Today, Letizia varied the outfit with her dusty pink Felipe Varela suede clutch and Yanes flower blossom stud earrings.
On Monday, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia hosted a luncheon in the Gala Hall of the Royal Palace for the visiting President of Costa Rica, Luis Guillermo Solís and his wife, Mercedes Peñas Domingo.
Queen Letizia got on well with the Spanish-born First Lady.
For this stately occasion, Her Majesty repeated a floral green Carolina Herrera dress she briefly wore on Day 1 of the State visit to Japan in April.

Later in the week, Queen Letizia will attend celebrations for the annual Red Cross World Day, and finish her week with a couple audience hearings.
King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia attended the opening of the 'Scripta. Tesoros Manuscritos de la Universidad de Salamanca' exhibition today.
The exhibition at the National Library of Spain is part of the commemorations for the VIII Centenary of the University of Salamanca. The University was founded in 1218 and is the oldest in Spain and the third oldest university in the world.
There was no prim librarian style from Letizia today, instead the Spanish queen opted for one of her more edgier looks. She teamed a white blouse with a black figure hugging leather pencil skirt. She first wore the skirt in February for the closing ceremony of the Telefónica Foundation research project, but unfortunately we have not been able to identify the brand/designer.
The blouse is a new addition to her closet which I found in the inventory of Hugo Boss. It's the BOSS 'Blusil' Stretch Silk Blouse (US$375).
The elegant blouse features a layered Mandarin collar detailed with covered buttons and shirring onlg the neckline. The long-sleeve style is cut from flowy stretch-silk georgette in a creamy, pink-tinged neutral hue.
Letizia accessorized with her black Hugo Boss laser-cut clutch bag and Magrit leather pumps.
She coordinated the black and white ensemble with a pair of two-tone onyx earrings from Spanish jeweller Coolook. She debuted the 'Luna' style (€333) featuring a black onyx stud with a white onyx teardrop stone and a contrasting pave trim. The handmade earrings are set in rose-gold plated silver.

Queen Letizia was in La Rioja today to preside over the opening of the XII International Seminar on Language and Journalism.
Before the meeting, Her Majesty greeted the crowd that had gathered outside the Monastery of San Millán de Yuso.
The former journalist was in her element during the colloquium.
Queen Letizia adhered to a professional look, wearing a charcoal grey Hugo Boss pant suit.
She first wore the smart set at the Forum Against Cancer meeting in February. The separates include the BOSS 'Jadela' Stretch Virgin Wool Asymmetrical Blazer and the matching BOSS 'Tiluna' Stretch Virgin Wool Dress Pants. Both pieces are currently reduced by 40% at Hugo Boss.
