Queen Letizia arrived sporting her black Carolina Herrera cape-inspired coat.  This is the first time we are seeing the coat for an official engagement, however Letizia was first spotted wearing the piece in March 2017 when Hola! published candid photos of the Spanish queen walking with her stylist Eva Fernández.

The oversized coat has a single-breasted front with round button closure. The coat is fashioned with external pockets, wing sleeves and slits down the sides.

Beneath the coat, she was all business in her Hugo Boss glen check trouser suit which she debuted at last month's Spanish Red Cross meeting.

She softened the menswear-inspired separates with her vanilla BOSS 'Banora' silk blouse. The top is currently available at Hugo Boss USA, Hugo Boss UK, and Nordstrom.

Letizia has a cold, the journalists who were there could see her coughing.
The weather is a bit rare this year, cold in the morning and more than 14-15, even 20C degrees in some places of the country in the afternoo, in February, the trees are bloming....so the flu is awful.

Ps, I think you are the only one who has the correct coat!!!

Thanks for tipping me off that she had worn it before!

I love the coat! Especially in the 1st pic. Highly unusual with a cape feel to it. Goes nicely with the suit, purse and shoes. Nice QL!

I'm a huge fan of capes so I really adore this version. The loose open sleeves, big buttons and pockets are all great details. What I find practical about capes is that they are less restrictive and allow for more movement than a regular coat but still keep you warm.

Good for her for looking so put together while she has a cold. I usually look like a hot mess even with makeup. :)

I love to see QL step out with such a big smile:) I do like the coat, it's unique and interesting. The suit, however, looks way too big, especially the trousers. I know this is the style these days, but I don't think it's flattering!

Once again it is black and white. I like the coat with the cape like detailing. Suit is still very baggy looking...guess she hasn't grown into it yet. :-)

On TV the suit looks like blue, cream and a bit soft pink.
Walking it seems much more better, the movement is nice.

There has been a lot of black and white over the past 2 months. We need to see more bright colours like the royal blue gown worn at the start of the year.

I've mentioned previously that this is a great suit, my thoughts have not changed, although I'm surprised to see it repeated so soon. Understandably the Queen may want to get as much wear out of the two-piece as possible before the season changes. The Carolina Herrera cape is a chic addition, the boxy silhouette is ideal for comfortably covering multiple layers, whilst complimenting the buttons on the cuffs of the blazer. In January the look felt more luxurious with the cashmere coat draped over her shoulders, here there is quiet sophistication with the muted tones. A brief note on Letizia's street style in the Hola photographs. I have admired this outfit since 2017, with it's emphasis on smart city-style. Letizia is wearing several statement items that work harmoniously together. All monochrome, allows you to appreciate the sharp cut of the cape and patent finish of the brogues while the beige stripe around the platforms and patterned scarf pop against the backdrop. I thought the Queen looked effortlessly modern in the all-black oversized shapes.

This pantsuit looks great offset by the beautiful silk Vanilla blouse. The pleating around the neckline I love, softens and adds interest to the blouse. I adore capes! the round button closure is a excellent added feature. Winged sleeves with slits down the sides is perfect for the wearer. The Queen looks so stylish and elegant.

I love the blouse too, though it's much the same as the last HB blouse with the pink pant suit, the same radiating neck pleats being used. It's a lovely soft touch against the businesslike suit, and itself manages to be both smart and feminine. The clean crew neckline is a pleasure to see as well, tidy under the jacket reveres. Letizia is very good at finding these classic but style-conscious items.

I feel a bit guilty about liking this generously cut suit just because it’s in a sober check and I couldn’t handle the potentially more edgy pink of the other day, but then I must be an old-fashioned girl. The Hugo Boss tailoring keeps everything elegant despite manly broad shoulders and wide leg pants, and the fabric hangs beautifully. I love the colours that appear to be in the plaid in these pictures, they look purple and blue with a paler line through them. The businesslike look is partly offset by vampy Magrit heels with pointed toes while the HB Fanila clutch is nicely in keeping.

The Herrera cape coat is wonderful, the sleeves are wonderfully cut to keep the cape look and it has a lovely full back. It looks very cosy while being elegant and ladylike. The gold huggie hoops are just right for a restrained touch of gold. Letizia is in top form for a committee meeting.
