The National Day is an annual national holiday that commemorates the discovery of the Americas by Christopher Columbus for Spain on 12th October 1492. It is marked with a military parade.
After the parade, Their Majesties hosted a reception in the Throne Room of the Royal Palace, to which they had invited diplomats and Spanish dignitaries. Princess Leonor attended the reception for the first time, indicating that she will begin to assume more royal responsibilities ahead of her 18th birthday later this month.

I love this dress on Letizia. The shade of blue is beautiful and the print is delicate. I like the way the sleeves and the skirt flow. It is so feminine and pretty.

However I don't like the version being worn by the model. The neckline bow is too fussy. Also the seams are quite prominent, perhaps because the model is wearing white underneath and Letizia's dress seems to be lined with blue.

The earrings are fine, although I would prefer a pearl, to pick up the white in the dress.

This dress is so beautiful. The gorgeous shade of blue is enhanced by the alluring floral print. I see Letizia has made some interesting alterations in the length of the dress as well as the sleeves & neckline. She also closed up the front opening and added some more volume to the lower part of the dress. The fabric also seems heavier compared to the models which is see through. These changes have improved the original design considerably and made it more flattering.

This is a very attractive dress. The alterations the Queen had on this dress I prefer as opposed to the version of the model.
Overall very pretty and feminine.

I'm not very good at adjusting to Letizia in loose floral dresses so I can't be a great fan of this one. She looks well enough up on the platform. but the skirt of dress seems too full and too floral for my own taste and I think the collar looks a bit twisted where she's had the tie neck removed.

I like the lower heel Herrera slingbacks, and the Gold & Roses earrings are beautiful, but too fussy with all the floral pattern below. Letizia has nonetheless fulfilled her royal duty to a tee, and perhaps looks better in this inside the baroque palace setting.
