Queen Letizia looks chic in a contemporary Inés Martín Alcalde power suit for ARCOmadrid 202224/2/2022
The Queen of Spain inaugurated the ARCOmadrid 2022 fair, which in this edition returns to its usual dates to celebrate its 40th Anniversary (+1).
Queen Letizia usually accompanies her husband King Felipe VI to this annual event, but today she went solo because His Majesty was attending an emergency meeting with the National Security Council for Ukraine.
ARCOmadrid is the International Contemporary Art Fair of Madrid. It is one of the prominent contemporary art fairs on the international circuit, held annually at Ifema-Madrid in the Spanish capital.
Her Majesty stepped out in a sharp pinstriped pant suit by Inés Martín Alcalde. This is the first occasion we have seen Queen Letizia wear a garment by the Madrid based fashion label.
The €420 two-piece suit features a double breasted blazer with peaked lapel, structural shoulder pads, and front patch pockets. It is teamed with a coordinating pair of cigarette pants, and finished with a sash belt at the waist.
She carried her navy Carolina Herrera 'Baret' clutch, and on her feet were the Magrit 'Mila' pumps in navy leather.
Queen Letizia topped off her contemporary look with a new pair of huggie earrings by Gold & Roses.
They are the 'Air Garden' earrings (€1,885) featuring a marquise emerald and diamonds set in 18kt rose gold.

This suit is absolutely gorgeous! The classic pinstripe is incorporated into a modern style with the narrow, shorter pant, wide collar and tie waist. This is one of the best outfits so far this year. I want this suit in my closet.

What a fantastic look! Leti looked good! It is a familiar-type outfit on Leti, but the sash is different component. I am glad she is using a Madrid designer. I don't mind the shoulder pads. because the modern touches of the suit(slim pants and sash) separate the suit from an 80's suit sufficiently.

I think it's just brilliant how that sash has transformed the more pronounced details of the suit. The slim pants are everything 👏

Actually the shoulder pads are on trend this year, at least in Spain. You could see that the Pedro del Hierro's dress she wore un Stockholm has them. All Spanish designers try to do It.

This Ines Martin Alcalde pant suit is an inspired pick for an contemporary art fair. It shows great flair in the cut of the structured shoulders, raised to a daring peak, but tamed to the width of the wearer and not overpowering. The exaggerated lapels are a triumph and the whole is cleverly offset by the dashing tie belt, cinching Letizia's trim waist. It is a daring feminine statement over the masculine vibe of the sharp pinstripe.

Bertie, I agree with all you say. The suit is beautiful. I too love the earrings and although I don't know how the green fits in, anything with emeralds has a special vibe. I too support the Ukraine and I'm heartsick for that country's people.

This is a beautiful pantsuit, a fabulous appearance by the Queen. I think this is one of the best looks so far this year. Gorgeous classic, Navy pinstripe is chic and stylish, very commanding and striking to the eye. The double breasted blazer has so many marvellous features. The peaked lapels are just divine, I love this, combined with the structural shoulder pads, which give definition, last but not least the front patch pockets, perfect. The sash belt at the waist elevated the overall look, it was now complete, so sophisticated and cosmopolitan. The cigarette pants are masterful, with just enough width to fall attractively, they have a real gracefulness and smoothness. The C H clutch and divine Margit pumps work in wonderfully. The unusual 'Air Garden' earrings are stunning, I would love them in my jewel box!, the rich green emerald offsetting the glistening diamonds and rose gold, delightful. The Queen at her best.
