The Residencia de Estudiantes (Student Residence), is a centre of Spanish cultural life in Madrid. The Residence was founded in 1910, as a cultural institution that helped foster and create the intellectual environment of Spain's brightest young thinkers, writers, and artists. Some of the most prominent figures of 20th-century Spanish culture emerged from among the residents, including  Federico García Lorca, Salvador Dalí, Luis Buñuel and Severo Ochoa.

Today the Residence, among many other roles, organises numerous public events, in which many protagonists of the arts and sciences of the last decades take part. It also develops different research projects following two main lines: the study and dissemination of its historical legacy and the analysis of current intellectual trends in order to explore how our culture is evolving.

One thing I like about Letizia's style is that it is not predictable and boring. She is daring and willing to try almost anything. This top proves my point. I appreciate the avant garde design with the flared sleeves as well as the lovely summery print of the fabric. But since the top is such a standout I would prefer to see it with a simple straight skirt or classic slacks and a more subdued shoe. The cropped pants and espadrilles make the top too flamboyant and flashy. I hope to see her wear it again in a more conservative way.

I like the outfit. Are the trousers not the same as the ones shown in the 2016 fashion flashback?

They are very similar but the Massimo Dutti trousers Letizia wore in 2016 do not have flap pockets on the back: https://www.queenletiziastyle.com/uploads/2/1/2/9/21295692/1251320_orig.jpg

I don't know what it is draws Letizia to these exaggerated ruffle armholes but I'd be just as glad if she could resist them. I feel hey do nothing for her petite frame by broadening the shoulders so dramatically. The effect is bordering on clownish for me. It's a shame because I really like the style and colours of the Psophia print.

The general awkwardness is only heightened for me by wearing wide crops and clunky espadrilles. I do, however, like the belt, it does just about pull this together into a summer outfit. Once again, my apologies to this lovely hard-working Queen who I'm sure puts effort into choosing her outfits. I'm just glad she can't see what I'm wearing.

Bertie, I imagine Letizia is reading what we are writing. That is why I try not to be too critical and always look for something positive in each outfit. If I was in her position I don't know how I would handle being scrutinized from head to toe. The pressure must be intense.

Thanks for the kindness reminder, Sandy! I'm sure the Queen isn't reading this, but kindness costs nothing. Unfortunately I get wobbly on day my freezer dies! 🙃

I'm sorry about your freezer. That happened to me a couple of years ago. It's not a pleasant experience.

I don't like this ensemble, but I appreciate that it is youthful and fun. For me, the outfit looks strongest from the front, the pieces flow and the colours are fresh and summery. From the side, the outfit is heavy with voluminous double ruffle sleeves and huge alpargatas.

I very much like Psofia's relaxed lookbook styling. The untucked top over the cinnamon pleated cotton wide-leg trousers looks effortless and sophisticated. I can imagine the lookbook trousers and top paired with minimalist sandals, an elegant slouchy oversized clutch and some stacked bangles. 2015,16 &17 are my fashion flashback favourites. The outfits were nicely put together and the Queen's hair appeared professionally styled. Attention to detail isn't as considered in looks 2018,19 & 20.

I love the print on the blouse, although all I can see when I look at the top is butterfly wings. It is a bit too edgy for my tastes, but I admire Letizia's boldness to try different things. I would have preferred a camel coloured flat or sandal, but I know espadrilles are a popular summer shoe in Spain.

I don't like this ensemble at all. The pants are lovely, great fit, but the top well its a no for me. As long as the Queen likes it that is all that matters.

Even though I'm late, I wanted to chime in because I love the top so much! The bigger the sleeve the better as far as I'm concerned and it's all cotton, which is my preference.

I do agree that the model's styling is better. I prefer the grounding of the darker trouser to the white. Cropped trousers, especially wide-legged ones, cannot go away too soon for my liking.
