The King and Queen of Spain accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses Leonor, Princess of Asturias, and Infanta Sofia continued their tour to all of the Autonomous Communities with a trip to Mérida the capital of western Spain's Extremadura region. The objective is to support the recovery of social, economic and citizen activity following the COVID-19 lockdown.

The Royal family's first activity of the evening was a guided tour of Museo Nacional de Arte Romano de Mérida, an archaeology museum positioned in the Archaeological Ensemble of Mérida. The Museum's content and activities revolve around the Roman period, which is the focal point of the permanent exhibition set up at its main headquarters.

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia accompanied by their daughters moved through the crypt tunnel to the Roman Theatre where they attended the opening of the 66th edition of the Festival Internacional de Teatro Clásico de Mérida (International Classical Theatre Festival of Merida). They saw the play Antígona by David Gaitán, once the performance had concluded the family held a meeting with the director and actors of the play.
The International Classical Theatre Festival of Mérida is the oldest classical theatre festival in Spain and is considered the most important of its kind. The performances of the festival's works are held annually at the Roman Theatre in Mérida, which is considered one of the best buildings in the world that represent the solid modes and harmonic forms of Roman architecture in the time of the emperor Augustus.

SEPARATES: Black star-printed Poète 'Galaxy' camisole with the matching 'Omega' pleated midi skirt. Teamed together, they give the illusion of a dress!  Letizia debuted the set last September for a meeting with Servimedia News Agency.

I remember Letizia wore this outfit with a white blazer on Sep. 10/19. I liked it with the blazer but it's nice to see it on it's own. I think it's a cute, simple ensemble that looks comfortable for hot weather. I really thought it was a dress! Two separates make it more versatile. The lace insert at the neckline and the small white dots or stars add some interest.

Letizia looks summer chic in this Danielle and skirt that looks like a dress. She looks cool and comfortable and elegant. This is just perfect for a night at the theater. The girls also look great!!

This Poete ensemble seems to benefit from being worn as a simple summer outfit. I see I reeled back from it last time when Letizia wore it under a Caroline Herrera blazer, but in a holiday-style setting it holds up much better. It fares better without designer competition and has a nice fit -- the starry pattern is spot on for a summer evening. The neat Dominguez bucket bag is perfect and the black Macarenas look much neater than the paler shades. A handy working outfit.

I am very aware that I am a constant source of negativity at the moment. I apologise and hope others can find enjoyment in recent outfits. Of all the beautiful 'smart-casual' garments in the Queen's wardrobe, I'm saddened that she is repeating some of my least favourite pieces. In September, I hoped that we would never see this Poète ensemble again. I'm afraid that I can't look past the flimsy fabric (the cotton is very fine), novelty print, and the cut has no shape. There are also a few issues with the lace trim -  in the centre of the camisole (front and back), there is an unattractive black triangle. I think this may be caused by the strips of lace crudely overlapping. In addition, the lace sits awkwardly high on the chest, which creates an unflattering effect and raises the bust darts above the bust. At full price, this set retailed at just under a €100, in my opinion, this is far too expensive for the standard of quality seen here. The photographs that were taken earlier in the evening when it was still light highlight the flaws in this look, the light is much kinder in the images above. On a positive note, the set appears cool and easy for a warm evening.

Hi Masha, Karana and Bertie, thank you for your supportive words :o). I always try to be respectful but worry that I may lower the mood, and we are all here for fun after all. The elegant leaf print dress by Pedro del Hierro has lifted my spirits!

I am probably in the minority, but these separates are a rare miss for me. The lightweight, sheer fabric and lace trim is not appealing to me. Regardless of my personal taste, the Queen looks lovely. The addition of the black mini bucket bag is a total win.
P.S I had to say, the King looks great in his casual wear, the green shirt and cream pants? (by the look of it) looks fabulous.

Hi Ava, I quite agree, King Felipe always looks good. He truly is the most handsome royal.

This camisole appears poorly cut or not cut for the wearer. The neckline sits too high and looks sloppy. I get a kick out of the print but I think something whimsical like that needs to have more gravitas in the construction to be taken seriously. To me this ensemble should be for private wear not work wear. I think there are better options that would still be good for hot weather and a casual engagement.
