Queen Letizia repeats Salvatore Ferragamo dress to celebrate the feast of San Juan Bautista24/6/2021
The Queen of Spain celebrated the feast of San Juan Bautista, patron of the Municipal Police of Madrid, in a solemn act held in the El Retiro Park, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the admission of women into the Madrid Municipal Police Corps.
The municipal agents of Madrid were the first women, along with those of Córdoba, to serve as police officers in Spain, which was a great advance in equal rights. This municipal body of Madrid received the patronage of San Juan Bautista in the seventies.
Her Majesty presided over the parade with a majority representation of women from the Units of the Municipal Police, Central Security Unit Squad and other bodies. During the event, a Tribute to the Fallen took place and Medals of Professional Merit and the Crosses of Merit were awarded, among other recognitions.

I may be in the minority here but I like this dress because it is so unusual. The way the fabric drapes over the bodice as well as the gathering on the sleeves creates a dramatic effect. One thing I don't like is the waist band. I don't know what it is exactly but it's just not pleasing to the eye. I think the use of a thin belt might make it look better.

The first time this dress was worn, I loved it. Unique and draped beautifully. This time I am not quite sure why, but IMO, the dress isn't as flattering as its first wear. It seems very overwhelming, I realize there is a lot of fabric with the dress, but regardless, something is amiss . Maybe just me! I was never keen on the drawstring waist and still not.

I like the colour of this dress and that's about all. There is much fabric, especially in the long, draped sleeves. The elasticized waist cheapens the garment. Overall the dress is wearing Letizia and it swamps her. I do like the earrings.

However this dress costs almost 2000 euros, so not always expensive things are the best.

This isn't my favourite dress due to the ruched detailing, but one can see how beautifully it fits and moves in the video. The photographs do not do the dress justice. I'd like to elaborate on what I said the last time the Queen wore this dress. Salvatore Ferragamo's 2019 Resort collection contained a printed dress (see link), two of the most dominant colours within the print are brick red and teal. Inspired by Ferragamo's colour palette, I would try styling the brick red dress with the teal Magrit Lissette pumps and Lisi Fracchia earrings (which feature an orange sphalerite stone and green garnets). Bolder accessories may add more pizzazz to the ensemble than safe nude slingbacks.

After a run of svelte repeats I'm sorry to say I regret the return of what looks to me to be close to grunge. This Salvatore Ferragamo seems ill-fitting and shapeless in every respect. The grandpa collar looks mean, the elasticated waistline all over the place, and the ruched arms a plain mess. I'm fine with the slinky Herrera slingbacks and love those Aldao Joyeros ruby drops. Apart from the national colour it seems a most unmilitary and droopy dress to wear.
