I just love the way the King and Queen of Spain interact with the children. They are so warm and approachable and it's obvious the kids adore them. Letizia looks gorgeous in this VB set and I think the TOUS earrings were a perfect choice. I prefer the separates with the navy slingbacks rather than the red ones Letizia wore when she debuted the outfit.

She wore the Tous earrings to support the brand wich has had issues, it was put into question its quality. The case has been filed though.

The Queen needed to be visible amongst the crowds and schoolchildren - this striking, but comfortable, ensemble worked perfectly for the day's itinerary and deserves to be re-worn in full. However, for a future repeat, I would like to see the shirt restyled.  As mentioned previously, wide-leg navy trousers and pumps, combined with a sleek tan handbag/clutch and gold hoops would look sophisticated. Last time, I wasn't overly fond of the scarlet accessories.  I am happy to see navy on this occasion. The slingbacks harmonize against an already busy outfit, while the red insoles echo the small injection of red topstitching on the skirt. (I would have preferred 'Claudia' by Magrit 01/02/18, the glossy leather would have been complimentary against the fluid silk, but the CH's may have been easier to wear.). Pearls look luminous against the silvery base of the print, their irregular shape feels classically modern, much like the Victoria Beckham pieces.

Jennifer, that thing that the Queen and "be seen in the crowds" is an English thing. We have never heard of it. In fact Spaniards do not like someone who crave attention, probably because of that she wears too much black and white.

I'd forgotten the red stitching over the pattern and you're quite right about the flash of red undersole on the navy pumps, it's just fine to point up the red hints in the print. I now approve the dark slingbacks, which I'm sure will just make Letizia's day ;) I like your handy expression 'classically modern', it covers a host of possibilities with the minimum of language!

Hi Wendy, that's very interesting, thank you. So Letizia wearing something overly striking or colorful could potentially be seen as craving attention. It must be a hard balance to strike, assembling a look that is eyecatching for people that may have waited hours to catch a glimpse of you and not being seen as purposely trying to draw attention. Hopefully, monochrome outfits like this offer a happy medium while looking modern and relatable.

Hi Bertie, I'm sure it made Letizia'a day ;o) I adore the CH red slingbacks. For me, her most fabulous wearing of them was paired with the red lace dress 22/07/19.

Jennifer, the thing is that nobody has ever spoken or thought here about that thing of lots of people waiting of seeing it. In Spain nobody waits for hours to see them...LOL...., in fact most people have to work and only eldest people attent those things. You can't tell your boss that you are going tp see the King and need vacations. It is gossip.

Well, however when she visited UK she wore yellow, stricking red, blue, etc..When she travels abroad she usually weat more stricking colours, jewels, hats....she followed your rules.
In Spain it is the military or diplomatic colorours she usually wears.
Felipe II the Emperor, always spoke about "austerity", those are our rules ( in the street).
For parties, balls, weddings, etc...more colours are well perceived.

I'm very pleased to see the return of this VB two-piece, it has originality, chic, and wearability all rolled into one, I think it's a fun outfit for a fun engagement with kids.

I love the use of unevenly juxtaposed monochrome prints, and the asymmetric hem plays into the serendipity. It ws best wtih the red shoes last time, but I understand the need for a switch-up on a repeat and the black slingbacks -- albeit the same Herrera style as the red -- are just fine teamed up with the Tous bluestone and pearl drop earrings, a clever touch to echo the monochrome print.

Letizia succeeds once again in being on-trend as well as comfortable and event appropriate, an impressive achievement for any royal lady faced with a stream of outfits to assemble.

Black slingbacks? Navy suede, of course. Need my sleep!

This event seemed fun and lively. The enthusiasm, and warm welcome from the locals on their arrival, heart-warming. Lovely to see King and Queen sitting with the children within the circle, on chairs, I watched their interaction, so interesting. This outfit is feminine, but smart. I love this VB combination, simplistic, perfect for this event. The rolled up sleeves gives the impression of casual but the Queen still manages to look so elegant. The silk against the skin, divine to wear. I do prefer the navy sling pumps on this visit. Normally a pop of colour I prefer, but the busy pattern of the skirt works better with the muted colour of the shoe. The hem of the skirt again adds interest and different, perfect length. Her TOUS pearl drop earrings are beautiful.

This outfit is very similar to the Hugo Boss "Danimala Zebra print dress worn on 11/11/19. They both have a very bold animal print. While I prefer the HB dress to the VB separates worn here, I think it was a good choice. The outfit really helps here stand out from the crowd and be seen by the children.

"Stand out from the Crowd" is not a Spanish concept, that is something said by the Queen of England but never in Spain, where the Queens used to wear dark colours.

This blouse/skirt combo is not a favourite of mine. I think there is just too much print going in too many directions. I also preferred the red shoes with this outfit and the red and navy purse she used last time. I do realize that with a repeat a different styling is often used.

Oh no. Don't like this outfit. The print is terrible what makes it worse is the slanted hemline way too busy
