The King and Queen of Spain presided over the commemorative act of Día del Cooperante (Cooperator's Day) at Palacio de Viana in Madrid.
On the 8th September, the Spanish Cooperation commemorates Cooperative's Day in honour of professionals who work for sustainable human development and fight against poverty in vulnerable parts of the world.
The date coincides with the Declaration of the Millennium of United Nations where 189 heads of state pledged to meet the Millennium Development Goals in September 2000. Thus committing world leaders to combat poverty, hunger, disease, illiteracy, environmental degradation, and discrimination against women in the first 15 years.
Their Majesties attended a meeting where they had the opportunity to listen to the testimonies of aid workers who informed them of the challenges that COVID-19 has imposed on their respective countries.

When Letizia first wore this dress many of us thought that it was of poor quality. I remember that it was really inexpensive and while I can appreciate the effort to be frugal, a monarch should do better. The fabric looks limp therefore it doesn't hang well. I do like all her accessories and likely the belt cost more than the dress.

Maybe in other countries, in Spain the current governmet is in favour to abolish the monarchy. It is not the best moment for them. She is triying to go unnoticed, I'm afraid. She is still criticised because she has too many clothes and expensive..., she can't hit the target. I think that some people would like someone as Angela Merkel.

It is sad, Simone, that a hardworking woman like Queen Letizia is not more appreciated by the people and government of Spain. Letizia's wardrobe should not be a part to the controversy. She often repeats outfits and we are all fine with that. But this particular dress looks cheap. I wouldn't wear it and my clothing budget is only a small fraction of Letizia's budget. If Letizia is going to wear less expensive brands, rather than designer clothing, that is fine. However, this particular dress is not a good choice...she has far better quality dresses that she has not yet repeated.

I agree, Laura, however they are forcing her to do that. As Wendy says even the magazines have applauded it.

I loved this dress the first time Letizia wore it but now it hangs oddly.

In Spain the "gossip magazines" are saying it is great, "Zara and a repeit," so it seems that she got the hang of them.

With the exception of the stunning orange trouser suit 26/03/19, the Queen's choices from Zara often leave me confused. Most of her picks lack in quality - the fabrics, construction and design. I admit that I couldn't help feeling a little deflated when I saw that this dress was repeated for a 3rd time, when there are so many flattering barely worn dresses in Letizia's wardrobe. Apologies, I digress here. Just to clarify, I am speaking in general terms, not in the current climate. Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden frequently wears H&M's Conscious label (I am sure there are others who are far more knowledgeable than me on Victoria's style). From the infrequent coverage I have seen, Victoria's pieces are often adapted to improve the overall fit and design for 'Her'. This is likely achieved by a combination of the H&M team and personal seamstress. For the Queen's working wardrobe I wish a head designer or stylist at Zara would suggest 2 or 3 of the best pieces from the A/W collection, and with her approval lightly modify the items if necessary. Failing that, a talented seamstress could significantly improve carefully chosen garments, thus showcasing Zara to be the exciting and trend-led brand that it is.

If the theme was navy, there is the belted denim dress she wore on arrival in Mozambique which far surpasses this look. A white purse would have rounded out the theme. This dress hangs. Only old fashioned starch would define the shape better. Quite curious that the fashion writers in Spain love this. They are getting what they deserve,...repeats. Sponsorship of associations such as cancer or rare diseases which benefit actual people are swept aside in favor of frivolous articles on her 'vast wardrobe of clothes' which for the most part are low end brands (with all apologies to Spanish fashion).. Luckily she can make most things look good... in this case,um, no.

Zoe...well.."the fashion writers"..Actually I would blame on the current government, they are openly anti-monarchists..and his father's problems do not help.., then the covid19...Leonor is isolated at home becsuse the father of one classmate has tested positive..

In Spain most people wear "low end brands", there is no money for more expensive things. And right now the situation is very complicated, in general, many people will be fired or they working hours reduced. Showing clothes she only would find rejection.

I'm happy to see this lovely dress again even though it has been controversial with posters divided on their opinions. I may be the odd man out but obviously Letizia likes it too because this is it's third appearance. I still love the neckline and the comfortable look of the fabric. The belt gives it a more fitted and elegant look.

I may be in the minority, but, I liked this dress the first time the Queen wore it and the same now. The belt is a welcome addition. The neckline is lovely, feminine looking. Navy sling back pumps were a perfect choice.

I don't like this Zara dress, it seems so poorly executed and the trendy fringed edges come over as plain untidy rather than edgy. It hangs poorly and seems quite lumpy and the hem too uneven. With the Bardot neckline it looks more casual and I'm surprised to see it at a Madrid reception, even one with a focus on poverty. Love the accessories though!
