Letizia opted to wear it with her own black wide belt made from a reptile skin, a piece which dates back to November 2016.

She complemented the outfit with her black suede over-the-knee boots which we first saw in a photo marking Queen Sofia's 80th birthday last November.

This is a simple, elegant outfit that the average woman could wear. The snakeskin print skirt with the black contrasting belt is striking. I think the black buttons down the middle give the skirt a casual look that goes well with the boots. The hoop earrings are beautiful.

I am really not a fan of snake print, but I actually like this combo a lot.

So apparently some of the Spanish fashion/celebrity media is aghast that Queen Letizia decided to show some of her gray hair at this event. I would love to see her go naturally gray, I’ve never felt the need to dye my hair.

They are blonde highlights. The white hair is complicated, it must be very cared because it tends to yellow. And when it is half grey it comes across dirty.
I do not think it is grey hairs, if not blonde highlights, due to it is not only the roots.
All women are dyed and a bit make-up in Spain, grey hairs it is seen as dirty. Older women even more, back in the day they were perfect all the time.

Interesting, thank you Wendy. From what I understand, fortunately hair dye in the EU is safer (ie, has fewer nasty chemicals) than here in the US.

It's so interesting that there would be comments about a strand or two of gray hair -- even if it's really a blonde highlight. The king looks so dashing with his salt and pepper beard which just goes to show you that there is such a double standard about how men and women age. I think Letizia looks beautiful regardless of her hair color -- she's always so polished and professional.

They are a lot of men who dye their hair also...People do not like his beard, he looks like older.

You're absolutely right. Why this double standard? I dyed my hair between 30 and 40, and then decided to let nature have its way. I'm now 64 and nearly completely grey, with short hair. And what do people comment? "You look so interesting"! Probably because I stand out!

I think Queen Letezia looks marvelous here except for the belt loops. They seem to lean toward the center instead of being straight up and down. Black thread belt loops would have been invisible and given the whole look more polish.

I barely noticed the belt loops till you mentioned them, now I can't stop seeing them!

Long sleeves black top and those boots = look so good together!

I think Letezia would look pretty if she would go grey. Grey can be very nice if it is styled properly and not allowed to turn yellow.

I like this look, simple but crisp. I'm not keen on the new hair: I don't mean the greys, I have no problem with them at all, but I think the new brown is too dark, too harsh

It is her real color nowadays, her hair has darkened with the age. Too much bottle blonde at some age it is a bit ridiculous.

I remember her hair from years ago, Wendy. I don't think this colour is natural. Look at today's pictures. I agree too much peroxide may look a bit ridiculous, at any age, but Letizia never got to that stage, in my opinion

I did not say it is her natural, it is her REAL colour nowadays but dyed.

I love this outfit, such adroit use of a High Street item, it had me fooled for sure, I assumed a designer skirt at first glance. But accessories are everything, especially those sensational Magrit boots. Love the zircona hoops - overall, pure class.
