Francisco de Goya (1746-1828) was a Spanish romantic painter and printmaker. He is considered the most important Spanish artist of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. His paintings, drawings, and engravings reflected contemporary historical upheavals and influenced important 19th & 20th - century painters. Goya is often referred to as the last of the Old Masters and the first of the Moderns.
The exhibition brings together approximately 70 paintings and more than 100 masterful drawings and prints. For the first time, seldom seen paintings from Spanish private collections are shown alongside key works from the most prestigious European and American museums and private collections. The exhibition is accompanied by a new film by contemporary French artist, Philippe Parren, who documents Goya's fourteen 'Pinturas negras' (Black paintings).
Queen Letizia debuted separates by Spanish brand, Is Coming. She coordinated a green blouson sleeve wool sweater with a brocade pencil skirt. The Madrid based label launched in 2019 with a focus on 'slow fashion' and suitability. Constan Hernández is the creative soul of the brand, who founded his first firm called Hoss Intropia in 1994.
