Subsequently, they made a short tour of the Levante beach, stopping off at a traditional ice cream parlour and conversed with beach maintenance and management workers.
In the afternoon King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia travelled to Valencia where they strolled along the Malvarrosa beach promenade.
The royal couple later presided over the presentation ceremony of the 2019 National Innovation and Design Awards at the Museo de las Ciencias (Science Museum).

Queen Letizia gave us a double dose of déjà vu outfits for the day trip to the Valencia region.  Her first outfit consisted of the floral print Adolfo Domínguez midi dress.

You may recall, Letizia first wore this fit-and-flare frock for last year's official summer photocall at Marivent Palace in Palma.

Today she teamed it with her recently acquired pink Macarena 'Alba6' suede espadrilles.

Letizia looked chic in her Carolina Herrera New York cat-eye sunglasses, and finished the look with her gold bamboo design huggie hoop earrings.

It was first seen at last year's Balearic Islands reception, and again during the State visit to Cuba in November. The designer of the piece remains unknown.

Today, Queen Letizia accessorized with her Carolina Herrera 'Maysa' clutch bag and red  slingbacks, also by the Venezuelan fashion designer.

Love them all but that red dress is amazing, along with Letizia’s physique. I’d love to know what her diet and workout regimen is!

I remember both of these lovely dresses. The floral AD dress is so classic and romantic. An outfit you would expect to see in an old Hollywood movie. The large peony print is very captivating. I'm glad she put the espadrilles away for the red halter dress. I think we have seen enough of them lately and they just wouldn't go with that dress.

Very pretty dress, very clunky shoes, that make Letizia's feet look huge...I've been saying that a lot lately. The second outfit, all in red, is very stunning and I wouldn't change a thing. The snakeskin clutch adds an interesting dimension.

Such a breath of fresh fashion air to see Letizia in a fitted dress after all the baggy, High Street holiday gear. The skirt on the Dominguez is so pretty and full, very fifties. The pink Macarenas continue to disappoint , but at least the striking print distracts from them.

I was completely made up to see the return of the red halter-neck for the design awards, real designer, real Letizia like before lockdown, a treat to see. Fantastic to see her hair set in waves and the hoop earrings. are sensational, spot on with that racy halterneck. Love those snappy, hot red Herrera slingbacks, and the contrast pattern CH clutch against the plain frock.

I love both outfits, but specially the red one. I think she looks tres chic and sexy with it. The hair, make up and the gold earrings match perfect and the outfit looks very summery and perfect for my city, Valencia.

Everything that Bertie says. She can pump up the volume on short notice! The red outfit sizzles.

The AD dress is lovely, very pretty and feminine. I loved it the first time she wore it.
The red halter neck midi dress is a favourite, the Queen looks fabulous. This dress is very stylish and flattering in all the right places. The CH snakeskin clutch is perfect against the vivid red of the dress, superb. The red sling backs are the perfect choice, but the hoop earrings are magnificent, the size and thickness of the hoops is spot on. They polish this outfit off sublimely

As I have previously stated this is a very romantic dress, with the lined full skirt, deep V-back and pretty peony print. The Queen looked lovely walking along the promenade with the dress blowing elegantly in the wind. However, it's greatly let down by the choice of footwear. I'm biased as I particularly dislike this pair of alparagatas, they are heavy and appear juvenile despite their high height. This dress would work perfectly with white strappy sandals. I appreciate that sandals are a controversial choice for some of the media outlets. The red halterneck dress is another strong repeat. I would only change the clutch, it’s a little big against the delicate lines of the dress. A small gold box clutch would have lifted the look and coordinated with the gorgeous hoops. I presume that Letizia styled her own hair for the awards, the loose waves look effortless and youthful.  She did a great job!
