Queen Letizia keeps it neutral for the Strategic Council of the Women and Engineering Project26/1/2021
The Queen of Spain attended a meeting of the Strategic Council of the Women and Engineering Project on Tuesday.
The Council is an advisory body to the Women and Engineering project of the Royal Academy of Engineering, an inclusive project that is committed to diversity and the promotion of women in technical fields.
For arrival at the Headquarters of the Royal Academy of Engineering in Madrid, Queen Letizia wore her light sand Felipe Varela wool belted wrap coat draped over her glen check Hugo Boss double-breasted pant suit.
ID UPDATE (2 Dec 2021)
The coat is not the same as her light sand Felipe Varela coat. We got a better look at this coat when Letizia wore it in December 2021 for a visit to a monastery in Madrid. Detail photos of the lining reveal it to be a vintage peice by Caramelo.
Here's a better look at the suit from the front and back.
Today, Her Majesty opted for her taupe ribbed neck sweater which was first seen during a video conference call in April of 2020.
The piece was unidentified, but I found a match on eBay! It appears to be the Hugo Boss pure cashmere sweater.
Queen Letizia completed the ensemble with her black Hugo Boss 'Hazelle' leather boots.

The beautiful creamy Varela looks well against the grey check, but overall the generous Hugo Boss outsize cut is too much on Letizia and seems in danger of overwhelming her. Full marks for a sober outfit for a meeting on women in engineering though.

I love that coat. It is so beautiful. The suit just seems to overwhelm her though. The shoulders are about the only part that actually seem to fit properly. But as usual she looks great.

The boots are really cool with the gold accent on the inner heel. The coat and cashmere pullover are nice too. But the pantsuit is way too bulky, shapeless and oversize. It looks like it's 3 sizes too big for Letizia. It looked more fitted in 2020 when it was buttoned up.

The initial photograph that I saw from this event captured the Queen from the waist up. I found the tones of beige soothing against the glen check. However, in full the trousers appear shapeless and don't hang as well as they should. If the blazer had been fastened, the creases down the fronts of the trousers crisper, and a loose-fitting shirt worn to help fill out the blazer, the presentation may have been stronger overall. I liked the suit in January 2020, the styling was superb which brought the outfit together with luxe appeal.

This is a elegant and chic pant suit. I understand that this outfit is supposed to be baggy, including coat and right down to the bag. I really liked it the first time she wore it, now not so much. This time, Its just seems too overwhelming on the Queens petite figure. Clever addition of the gold earrings and ring on her left hand, visible in pics , blending in so well with the clasp of her handbag. I love the Cashmere sweater and HB leather boots. Have always loved this sand coloured coat.

There is very little that I like about this look, other than the nice blend of colours and the smart boots. The suit is so baggy and looks like she is wearing her father's clothes. The coat is quite beautiful, but I detest the over the shoulders look. Either put the coat on, or take it off.
