The King and Queen of Spain presided over the premiere of "Médée" by Luigi Cherubini to inaugurate the 2023/2024 opera season at Madrid's Teatro Real on Tuesday evening.

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain presided over the premiere of

Their Majesties watched the performance from the Royal Box.

After the performance, King Felipe and Queen Letizia met with directors and artists of the opera.

This black dress has pizazz. I would not have included the leather belt, which is too severe. The diamond earrings and especially the bracelet add a touch of extreme luxury. I never like plastic on shoes, thinking it cheapens the look.

Another great black dress for Letizia. I think the belt accentuates the waist nicely. Her hair is fabulous!

The last photo shows off Letizia's gorgeous locks. Her hair is so long, glossy and healthy looking. Most women her age have thinning hair but hers seems to be getting thicker with each passing year. I wonder what her secret is.

Lovely to see a repeat of this gorgeous dress. I like the addition of the belt and black accessories. The large hoop earrings are stunning, love them. Her hair and makeup are on point, particularly her hair, stunning.

So delighted to see this lovely 2nd Skin black taffeta dress again, with its classic fitted bodice, charming full skirt with the gentle unevenness of the fabric which prevents it being too uniform, and the casual joie de vivre of the large applique bows cleverly breaking up any severe lines.

The Manolo Blahnik slingbacks are perfect, the modernity of the plastic segments echoing the chic of the dress, and the black straps allowing for light to be let in under the heavy skirt. The Bottega Veneto clutch has a useful touch of texture, the Coolook hoops are, well, cool, and subtle despite their size. Letizia's hair is fantastic, thank you so much for the photo, this is an outstanding look for the Queen.
